So I was a bit apprehensive about buying this game at first because of the number of negative reviews but I thought 'what the heck' and bought it anyway, i'll tell you now I did not regret my decision one bit. Okay maybe if you dont have a constant internet connection then it's a bit of a waste of money but if you have a really strong one then I would recommend buying this game, it really was fantastic!!

So to begin with, after loading up my game (which was very quick and straightforward) I was immersed in the game right away. The graphics were spectacular. It has been much improved from the last game along with the combat, missions and scenery. Truly magnificant. Every time you take down an enemy it was a very satisfying ending which your nemesis encountered. The missions are also very varied, from flying, chasing, to the age-old assasinations!! Although the assasinations in themselves are all different each time.

However, the only reason I have taken a star off is because that this is a very console based game. At the beginning you have to pretty much memorise your controls as in the right hand corner it flashes what button to press in the colours of the xbox controller (red, green, yellow and blue). It would make the game a lot easier if it showed the button to press, not a colour corresponding to it!! Another little niggle I had was that if you are even slightly facing the wrong way, or slightly off target, you will completely miss. God knows how many attempts I had to take in one of the assassins tombs to get to the end (trust me you'll know when you come to it).

So to summarise, Assasins Creed 2 is a pretty fantastic game although a select few people will miss out on this great sequal because of a poor internet connection. As I said at the beginning, bite the bullet!!

Let's start from the beginning; I so loved Assassin's Creed that I bought the sequel in all eagerness not realizing that this wonderful successor to the first game was in fact a Trojan Horse. All wonderful to look at if you looked at the advertising for it, yet when the disk arrived I was totally incensed by the anal inclusion and incompetent implementation of Ubisoft's flagship DRM that in effect treated paying customers like criminals. I didn't install it for weeks, toying with the idea of sending it back, when in a moment of absent-mindedness I did install it.

And to be honest, fell in love with this game as well.

Until the Ubisoft loader started to periodically refuse to establish a connection to the server and thus stop the game from loading. Last time was for a day.

Now I hate it with a passion.

This "rentware", so aptly coined, means that I cannot take the game to any location with poor internet connection as I will be prevented from playing it. Instead of implementing a system similar to that by steam and allowing local authentication and thus allowing offline playing, Ubisoft have guaranteed that I won't invest in their games again.

In conclusion, I should have been praising the gameplay and atmosphere present within AC2, instead I have spent my whole review discussing Ubisoft's awful online DRM that spoiled the whole experience for me.

Avoid until they sort the DRM.
